The curvacious body and sculpted surface of Oya will arouse your senses. Trust this piece to spread its beauty the best when bathed in light (by a window or lit from the back).

Oya is named after the Yoruba goddess, whose power is associated with lightning, tornadoes and storms. She is often represented with a sword of truth,to cut through stagnation and clear the way for new growth. Oya is tall and stately, and embodies creative power and action.
We chose a name full of symbols for this Stacking Vessel, characterised by the contrast inherent in its two monumental materials.

Dimensions: height 50cm diameter 24cm
Dimensions are approximate, due to the handmade nature of the materials

Handmade in Europe, by individual craftsmen: handblown and cold-worked glass (Czechia), hand turned & smoked wood (Germany)
The materials then come to our warehouse in North Germany where they are fitted and assembled.

Craft Challenge: Skilled cold working expertise is required to achieve the large vertical overlapping diamond wheel cuts ranging from rough to fine. The heavy glass piece has to be handled by a single person for several hours during this cold working process.

Smoked Acacia is a two part process, first the fragile bowl is turned, and after this smoked in a barrel. The wood bowl is crafted using age old wood turning techniques. The bark edge, kept natural in all its glory, is very fragile, and the wood should thus always be handled with care.
